Hi and welcome to my fine art portfolio website. I am an California artist who specializes in fine art paintings. I primarily use artist oils for my paintings on canvas, linen and wood panels. I also use acrylics and gouache. I am classically trained in the Old Masters techniques of Flemish/Bistre and Venetian methods using a grisaille underpainting and glazing with many layers. I sometimes use these techniques for my paintings and other times a more direct approach. I find inspiration from the natural world we live in. Flowers, wildlife, birds and nature are important elements in many of my paintings. A number of my paintings contain the female form or portrait intertwined with these natural elements. I also find inspiration from my dreams and daily life. Each painting has a story to tell and it is my hope that the individual viewer will see my paintings through their own eyes and perceptions.
